Day three

Well yesterday was my green smoothie day.  I went a bit over board in the evening, which I'm not happy about.  Today is a fasting day.  I am going to fast tomorrow as well.  Just want to experiment with exercise and fasting. I will have a small meal this evening of under 500 calories.  Thursday will be a normal day because I go out for lunch.  I didn't weigh myself this morning because I know I wouldn't get a turn reading with the bulking from yesterday.  I have muscles showing very slightly on my abs, but if I don't get rid of the thin layer of fat sitting over the top there is no point working hard.  I have only been doing abs workout for about 6 week so going quite well.  I will weigh tomorrow and let you know where I'm at.  Not a happy bunny today.

Day two

Had a fast day yesterday, about 500 calories.  I manage quite well going all day with out anything to eat, then have a nice evening meal.  Lost about 1 lb this morning.  Today is green smoothie day.  Have just finished my exercises of weights and pull up bar and floor exercises.  Will go on the treadmill later for 30 minutes.  I have planned my exercise around my non fasting days.  Will let you all know what weight I am tomorrow, whether up or down.  Here is the recipe for this mornings smoothie.  2 handfuls of wild rocket, a piece courgette, 50g avocado, 50g banana, 50g strawberries, 1 tsp wheatgrass, 1 tsp spirulina, 1 tbsp. flaxseed, 25g whey protein powder, 20g peanut butter.

Green smoothie and fasting

Awhile back I was doing intermittent fast which was kind of working.  This was before I started to do the green smoothies.  Well today I have just had a brainwave.  How about doing one day green smoothie diet, then the next fasting.  Just going to give it a try and see what happens.  I think I will have my smoothies on exercise days.  I will have a couple of days off, but not go to mad I hope.  So that works out at two days fasting, three day green smoothie diet, then two day semi green and fasting and what ever else happens.  I go out on a Thursday for lunch so this will be one of my days off.  And Saturday is always a bad day for me, especially if we go out.  I have posted a photo of one of my smoothies.  I do like to make them around 400 calories each because they are a meal.  I also like to make sure they have protein and fat in them.

Start as you mean to go on

This is a blog to help me stay on track and anyone who wishes to join me.  I have been doing green smoothies for about 4 months now and have been enjoying the journey.  I have been struggling to stay on track so thought a blog would help me log everything I do from now on.  I exercise three/four times a week of cardio and weights.  My diet on a good day will consist of two meal replacement green smoothies and a evening meal.  If I stay on track I can lose around 1 to 2 lbs a week, sometimes more.  I have lost 4 stone in total just looking to shift that last stone, which I did but it has creped back up slowly over the past year.  I want to stop the rot before it goes any further.
